Five circus artists and companies from the Netherlands try out their act for the audience

With acrobatics, trapeze, Chinese pole, handstand and contortion, the creators take us into their world of circus, stories and deft tricks.

Contemporary circus in the Netherlands is flourishing as never before. Innovative techniques and artistic influences are pushing the boundaries of circus art. Increasingly, these performances are finding their way to the theatre and interest is growing. During Back to Base, circus artists get the chance to test their act or work-in-progress in front of an audience - what do you think? Those who want can engage in conversation with the artists in the Circus Café afterwards.

We warmly welcome all Amsterdammers, youth and amateur circus students, circus and culture professionals and circus lovers. The evening is wheelchair accessible.
