In preparation for Amsterdam 750, singer Jackie Lou and pianist/singer Steven Aswin have joined forces to teach the general public more about Amsterdam through pop music and storytelling. What has actually happened over the past 750 years?

The creation of the infamous 'red light district', the glory days of the VOC, the dark pages of slavery, and the unprecedented tulip mania are discussed. Lesser-known events such as the Eel Riot and everyday aspects such as the smelly canals and the lively cycling culture are also discussed.

Amsterdam is a beautiful city with a rich history. Jackie and Steven: “We thought it was time to highlight the city's stories in an accessible way. Whether it is a refresher for the local Amsterdammer or new facts for the expat or tourist, it really is a show for everyone.”
