Here whilst we walk
The group as a mobile sculpture in the Amsterdam urban landscape.
Here whilst we walk
Here while we walk
Running purely for pleasure, without rushing and without a predetermined goal. Inspired by the idea of a work of art as a total experience, dance artists Gustavo CirÃaco (Brazil) and Andrea Sonnberger (Austria) take the audience on a silent walk through Amsterdam. To become completely absorbed in it and to consciously feel part of it.
The walking performance Here while we walk previously visited cities such as Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid and Rio de Janeiro. During Julydans 2024 it is Amsterdam's turn. The concept is deceptively simple: a group of at least six, but no more than twenty people, walks through the city. The group is enclosed by a rubber elastic that folds and stretches according to the movement of the participants.
