IN C - All of Amsterdam Dances
In 2025, Amsterdam will celebrate its 750th anniversary. Het Nationale Ballet will mark this milestone with a grand celebration of Sasha Waltz's In C. This impressive production, which blends improvisation with choreography, will be performed not only by the dancers of Het Nationale Ballet and the Junior Company but also by residents from all seven city districts of Amsterdam - ranging from teenagers to seniors, and from untrained dancers to folk dancers and hip-hop enthusiasts.

Heel Amsterdam Danst ('All of Amsterdam Dances') is inspired by Sasha Waltz's In C and emerged as a creative response to the COVID-19 lockdown. This international project brings together professional and amateur dancers from around the world, exploring 53 choreographic figures based on Terry Riley’s iconic musical piece. The aim is to build a strong global community through dance, with a focus on sustainability and minimal travel. In Amsterdam, dancers of all ages and backgrounds will come together for a spectacular performance, celebrating the power of connection and collaboration. Join us and experience how dance brings people closer together!
