It is an afternoon dedicated to cultural exchange for people from the African diaspora who showcase their heritage through dance and music. Our goal is to learn from each other, find recognition and have meaningful conversations. In the Wereldmuseum Studio in Amsterdam, the event creates a moment to honour the traditions of diaspora communities, promote a sense of unity and emphasize the importance of dignity.

Background to these stories

Influenced by historical events such as colonization, migration and apartheid, people of African descent have spread worldwide. Individuals and communities connect through diaspora culture and language; diverse cultures will come together during this exchange.

The event is free to attend. Registration is required via email, with your name and the names of friends or family you bring with you so that we know how many visitors to expect.
