Kaweh Modiri / Frascati Producties - Land zonder vlag

Kaweh wrote a monologue last year inspired by the Van Deysselbuurt in Nieuw-West. This was presented in Theater van Deyssel during Amsterdammers Nieuw West, an evening organized by the Amsterdam Literary Activities Foundation (SLAA). Artistic coordinator Khadija Massaoudi was so enthusiastic about his monologue that she invited Kaweh to collaborate with Frascati. Please note: the end time mentioned is an indication.

Monologue inspired by the Van Deysselbuurt in Nieuw-West

In a pressure cooker, Kaweh now creates a full evening performance with four actors within one week. For Country Without a Flag, Kaweh is inspired by the neighbourhood and the stories of its residents. He makes connections with social issues that play a broader role in society. These are the ingredients for his text, which playfully addresses themes such as uprooting, immigration and (national) identity.
