About English Baroque Music
Mimi Mitchell is internationally active as a violinist and musicologist. She studied musicology and violin in the US, came to Amsterdam to study baroque violin with Jaap Schröder and received her PhD in 2019 on The Revival of the Baroque Violin at the University of Amsterdam. As a guest musician she performed with London Baroque and on renaissance violin with The Parley of Instruments in England. Her musicological research brings many unknown compositions to light. In this lecture she discusses the performance practice of English baroque music.
