Vampyr (1932) Metrocelli + Martin de Ruiter
Surrealist film with a hypnotic score for cellos and bandoneon. Anyone who has previously seen the expressionist Nosferatu will discover a completely different approach to the vampire genre here. In the 1932 film Vampyr, surrealism is the dominant theme. Director Dreyer was inspired by the ghost stories of the Irish writer J. Sheridan Le Fanu. The four cellists of Metrocelli and bandoneonist Martin de Ruiter capture the ominous atmosphere of Dreyer's images in a hypnotic score.
