Monki has come out as an optimist, but what next? Director Benjamin Kuitenbrouwer sweeps away the last doubts. Because we were once born as optimists, when did things go wrong? The acrobats quirkily shook off the growth by switching on the Chinese mast and playing around the trapeze. The circus performance is a physical story about the core of our humanity, about permitted dreams of alternatives.
About the creator
Benjamin Kuitenbrouwer (1988, Amsterdam) is a versatile circus and stage artist who owes his nickname Monki to his penchant for swinging back and forth between meters-high poles. Since his debut, he has often appeared on stages and festivals, combining the double Chinese mast with live music, theatre, or video. Forever Young is the next performance in a series on the theme of optimism by Monki, homemaker of TENT, from 2021-2024.
