Het Woord uit Noord – our favourite monthly dose of culture – is expanding! Introducing Het Boekenclub, a monthly book club spotlighting local authors and featuring works aligning with our monthly theme.

Guided by Lot Douze, one of Het Woord uit Noord’s lovely hosts, the book club will kick off with Het Archief (‘The Archive’) by Thomas Heerma van Voss – a novel which beautifully captures feelings surrounding ambition, nostalgia and the timeless struggle between dreams and reality.

But this is not just any book club: Lot, with over 12 years of experience leading reading groups, brings her expertise and passion for literature to create conversations that inspire. And the conversation doesn’t stop at the end of this evening. One week after the book club meetup, during the following month’s Het Woord uit Noord, we dive deeper into the group’s insights and questions with none other than the author themselves. So, mark your calendars for the 3rd of February, where Thomas Heerma van Voss will join Lot for an in-depth interview. It’s not often a book club can go so deep!
