Amsterdam-based Swipework raises €650K to use AI for job seeking
Visual content to engage job seekers
Amsterdam's buzzing tech scene welcomes the launch of Swipework, an innovative video-based job platform that aims to transform how people search for jobs and how companies find talent. The platform recently secured €650,000 in a seed funding round from the AI software company Artific, marking a new milestone in its journey.
Set to officially launch on September 1, 2024, Swipework leverages AI technology and video profiles to match job seekers with employers more efficiently and personally. The platform’s founders, Niek van de Schootbrugge, Maarten ter Velde, and Ferran Rohaan, believe that the future of job hunting lies in visual and engaging content rather than traditional text-based vacancies.
Niek van de Schootbrugge highlights that 82% of people aged 18 to 30 don't read traditional job vacancies. Swipework addresses this by offering a video-first platform, allowing job seekers to explore company culture and roles through videos. The platform uses AI to improve matching between employers and candidates, potentially reducing the need for recruiters and extensive job marketing.
Amsterdam’s tech hub continues to grow better
Amsterdam is recognised as a tech and AI hub, making Swipework a fitting addition to the city's expanding AI community. The city has a strong network of research centres and AI-focused companies, such as the University of Amsterdam, which works on AI-powered innovations. CuspAI, and AiSalon, a global community of AI innovators, that launched in Amsterdam earlier this year.
Swipework is set to change the status quo in the job-hunting experience, with plans to achieve profitability by mid-2025. As the platform prepares to launch, Amsterdam continues to demonstrate its strength as a thriving hub for innovative tech solutions, playing an important role in the development of the local tech community and advancing global AI innovation.
