City Destinations Alliance

City Destinations Alliance (City DNA), an alliance of European metropolises, is on a mission to enhance the vibrancy and sustainability of its member cities. With initiatives like the uniting tourism efforts and the Glasgow Declaration's commitment to climate action, City DNA promotes inclusivity and economic growth while reflecting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Let's learn more about how our partnership with City DNA helps support inclusivity and sustainability in Amsterdam.

About City DNA

City DNA is a forward-thinking alliance of European cities that have united to enhance their unique assets as destinations for societal progress and economic growth. This network emphasises collaborative efforts that promote innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity – principles rooted in the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. The focus is on developing inclusive, robust and sustainable urban spaces that cater to the needs of every citizen while striking a delicate balance between growth and environmental preservation.

Our partnership

The partnership between City DNA and the Amsterdam Convention Bureau helps to promote a more sustainable future in the events-based tourism industry. As part of this collaboration, ACB can participate in initiatives such as youth advisory panels and collaborative platforms to streamline travel practices across the city.

By leveraging the Data Space, a single repository for tourism data, secure sharing of EU data across the travel and hospitality sectors is now possible. Additionally, the ACB can participate in the VivaCITY Challenge, which offers funded growth plans tailored to selected cities with industry experts' guidance towards sustainable development within the meeting industry. Through this partnership, ACB has bolstered its ability to identify and embrace environmentally responsible strategies to improve the tourism sector landscape.
