Goodbye, Lindita is a poetic farewell, a visual meditation on mourning. A family experiences grief in a muted, wordless manner, stupefied by their loss, until a series of uncanny events seems to suspend the boundaries between their world and that of the departed Lindita. Throughout the action, the icon of a Madonna Nera overlooks the proceedings, and a Black woman frequents the house. Poetic images and rituals from Balkan traditions follow trivial house chores. Drop by Melkweg EXPO in Amsterdam on Saturday, 17 February, for the long-awaited photo-book launch of "I DON'T FOLD UNDER PRESSURE," created by the Dutch photographer Erik van Cuyk. Dive into the world of stunning photos as we unveil this impressive collection, capturing the essence of human resilience and determination. Dutch photographer Erik van Cuyk travelled to South London neighbourhoods like Peckham, Brixton, and Croydon between 2021 and 2023, creating a photo book from his experiences. The book presentation takes place at Melkweg Cinema Amsterdam on February 17, serving as the prologue to the 'Oyster Festival'. Interested individuals are warmly invited to attend this book presentation (free admission) from 16:00 to 17:30.

For this year's first edition of the Gemberthee Sessions (Ginger Tea Sessions) we're connecting Bijlmer to Cape Town. We'll do this through the works and research of writer, director, producer, curator and cultural worker Adrian Van Wyk. Simone Zeefuik interviews Adrian about his creative processes and current research projects through which he left decolonial activism in the Netherlands and South Africa. The session opens with the screening of the short documentary What The Soil Remembers. Van Wyk is the producer and researcher of this short film directed by José Cardoso. At Bijlmer Parktheatre.
