Queer history in the Rijksmuseum
In this tour, you look at queer history in recent centuries through the art of the Rijksmuseum. From the Middle Ages through the 18th and 19th centuries to the present; the perspective keeps changing. Based on the collection of the Rijksmuseum, you will experience views on sexual diversity and identity in the Netherlands over the centuries. We look at Saint Sebastian, Diana, Callisto and William II, among others. A new, polyphonic look at the collection. The tour ends in the 'Point of View ' exhibition. Here you can see how ideas about gender have been depicted over time and also how they have continuously changed.
