About Roxette Capriles
Anartist Vineyard, aka Roxette Capriles (Curacao 1993), is a multidisciplinary artist with a radical critical working method of understanding, looking and interpreting others and oneself. “I continually sharpen my tools to be critically involved with my environment, not as a spectator, but as a participant.”
About the exhibition
From December 2, 2023, the Amsterdam Museum will present the exhibition Grand March: A Historic House through a Ballroom Lens. The exhibition collaborates with House of Vineyard, the first ballroom house in the Netherlands. In the rooms of the Amsterdam Museum location, Huis Willet-Holthuysen, the House of Vineyard shows the power of ballroom culture through radical fashion interventions and art installations. The exhibition is a celebration of queerness, a testament to the perseverance of the spirit, and a tribute to a group of people who refused to be invisible.
