Make your own mycelium panel with Waag Futuruelab! Discover how to grow and care for mycelium on May 8th. You will go home with the panel and instructions to care for it and monitor its growth. On Thursday June 5th we will meet again during Waag Open: Fungateria. Together we will work with your experiences and explore the possibilities of living mycelium architecture.

On Thursday June 5th we will meet again duringWaag Open: Fungateria . Together we will work on your experiences and explore the possibilities of living mycelium architecture.

What is mycelium?

Mycelium is the root network of mushrooms. Depending on the conditions in which the mycelium network grows, it can take on a similar appearance to plastic, foam or leather. That is why there is a lot of interest in mycelium as a natural building material. But is the use of mycelium really that environmentally friendly? In current applications of mycelium, the mycelium is killed at the end of the production process.

Please note : this program consists of two events: this workshop on Thursday 8 May and Waag Open: Fungateria on Thursday 5 June. The ticket automatically gives access to both evenings.
