Come by, tell your personal story to the musician who, inspired by your story, comes up with the music and plays it for you one-on-one. 35 musicians participate on 17 different instruments. The festival is for everyone and completely free.

Personal story

Take a seat and share your personal story with the musician. Let yourself be surprised by the power of music, fully inspired by your unique experience. Together with the musician, you will bring the musical voice of Amsterdam to life. Music creates a sense of belonging and connection.

The festival is completely free and everyone is welcome. From doctor to homeless, from baby to widower and from lifelong friendship to first date: every person is welcome and every story matters to me. This can be about anything from dreams and memories to missing loved ones, hoping for healing, wanting to go home and not having a home, and mental health.

Program

12:00 - 15:00: personal 1-on-1 stories and concerts
3:00 PM – 3:45 PM: composition challenge with guest musician: all personal concerts come together in 1 piece of music of the day
3:45 PM: performance of the song of the day

After 22 days, more than 250 stories and 80 hours of live music, this merges into a large concert with stories from the city: the voice of the Amsterdammer. This final concert will take place on 31 July at 20:00 in the Mozes & Aaronkerk, reserve your ticket for the final concert here: Final Concert – Music in the Making.
