ADE: Branko

Branko is the Portuguese musician and DJ João Barbosa. As co-founder of the collective Buraka Som Sistema and curator of the label Enchufada, Branko is one of the key figures in the Portuguese underground electronic music. Since growing up in Amadora, a neighboring city of Lisbon, he has dedicated his career to expanding (club) genres within his community such as kuduro, kizomba, zouk and baile funk.

Soma

Earlier this year, 'Soma' was released: on his fourth and latest solo album, recorded in Lisbon during a 3-day jam session, he challenged several musicians from the city to improvise over a rhythmic framework. Through this collaboration between local and international talents, he once again strengthened the authenticity and expression of the Portuguese community.
