ADE: Zaho de Sagazan

Metallic velvet

In her teens, Zaho developed a predilection for classic French chanson: she admired the wordcraft of Maurice Fanon in 'L'Écharpe' or Barbara in 'Du bout des lèvres', because they touched on the most intimate emotions. She also explored the darker, pounding electro of bands like Kraftwerk. On the album, both worlds come together: French chansons with a dark edge, sung by a voice of metallic velvet.
