Ari Abdul is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from New York. She makes dark alternative pop with influences of grunge and indie rock, inspired, she says, by the melancholy of artists such as Lana Del Rey and The Neighborhood.

She broke through in 2022 with her debut single 'BABYDOLL', which she wrote and produced with her friends Thomas and Isabel LaRosa. The song went viral on TikTok and has now been streamed more than 100 million times on Spotify. The sped-up version of the track has even been listened to more than 200 million times on the platform.

International influences

Ari Abdul is the child of an Ecuadorian mother who introduced her to the world of Latin American music, while her Costa Rican and Palestinian father introduced her to the sounds of rock and grunge. You can hear all these influences in her music. After a sold-out concert at the Melkweg in the autumn of 2023, Ari Abdul will return to Amsterdam in August for a concert in Tolhuistuin.
