Baloji

Born in Congo and raised in Liège, versatile artist Baloji began his musical journey in the 90s as a member of the hip-hop trio Malfrats Linguistiques, later known as Starflam. After leaving the group in 2004, he focused on his solo career, with his debut album 'Hôtel Impala' in 2008 going gold in Belgium and winning several awards. Since then, he has released several singles, EPs and albums, including his most recent solo album, '137 Avenue Kaniama' in 2018, which earned him the Octave Musiques du Monde prize. His music encompasses a mix of genres such as hip-hop, funk, afrobeat and traditional Congolese music.
