Mays
Amsterdam-based artist Mees Sluis has been crafting his skills in production and songwriting for seven years and has now been studying Electronic Music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam for two years. Under his stage name 'mays' he releases and performs 'hyperpop' songs with fast beats, catchy hooks, complex production and English lyrics. Inspired by artists such as Charli XCX, ericdoa, Aries and brakence, mays takes you into his world of high energy, professional music and cool visuals.
KIIRO
With his sample-based beats and hard-hitting drums that blast 'bakibaki' through the speakers, the Rotterdam artist makes Dutch-language Hip Hop with influences from his Japanese background. Aran Abe aka KIIRO, born 2000 Tokyo Japan, lives and works in Rotterdam. The stage name KIIRO is a nod to his Japanese background. KIIRO means yellow in Japanese. KIIRO's concise lyrics, in combination with his choice of words, low voice and lazy way of rapping immediately demand attention. In 2022 he won the Sena Performers Grand Prize of Rotterdam for best Hip-hop act. KIIRO's ambition is to become an established name in Japan and the Netherlands within the next two years.
JDMP
JDMP is an independent artist of Surinamese-Dutch descent. You can best describe him with the word Energy. With his own trap productions and R&B type vocal lines he makes his audience fly. He has done this in venues such as Melkweg OZ, but also Vondelbunker/Sexyland/WIHH GALLERY, culminating in his performance during the hip-hop competition RIGHTABOUTNOW. Here he not only took first place, but he is also at their festival with his set. This will take place in December 2024. He shows that as an independent artist you can lay a strong foundation with a community. From underground to mainstream. He does all this with a serious underlying thought.
