Mothica

On the dividing line between hyperpop and rock, we find Mothica. With influences from icons like Bring Me The Horizon and Poppy, both of whom push the boundaries of heavy music, McKenzie Ellis takes us into her 'genre-mashing' sound. It started in 2014 with her indie, 'gloom pop' sound; with her most recent work, 'NOCTURNAL', she has also managed to extend her love for emo and rock to her music in a heavier sound! McKenzie approaches her music from a 'pop lens' but injects it with abundant rock and metal elements, for which she collaborated with Polyphia, Scene Queen and Papa Roach, among others.
