She broke through in 2021 with her album An Overview on Phenomenal Nature , recorded with Josh Kaufman. The album was praised by Pitchfork and awarded Best New Music . Before Jenkins' musical career, she played in bands such as Eleanor Friedberger and Purple Mountains, and grew up in the East Coast folk scene.
