Catchy beats
Emily Li, better known as Emei, is an alt-pop artist from New Jersey who sings about life in her twenties over catchy beats. As the daughter of Chinese immigrants, Emei decided to go to China at 15. She competed in Chinese Idol and experienced a short period of fame in China.
However, she returned to America after a year to continue her music career there. Emei wants to be an example for other Chinese-Americans, something she previously did not have. In addition to studying full-time at Yale, she has already released several singles, including the famous 'Scatterbrain' and her most recent 'Don't Know About The World'. In addition to a 2nd EP release, she is planning a performance in the Upstairs!
