Grachtenfestival: Ronald Snijders & Ju Ju Young Lee Quartet
Latin and Brazilian music with clear roots in jazz
Snijders is a musical citizen of the world, a creative jack-of-all-trades and an exceptionally versatile and talented musical artist. In addition, he is a top performer and composer who is mainly known for his flute playing! Latin and Brazilian music are the main influences in Ju Young's music, with clear roots in jazz.
The quartet presents a repertoire that consists of its own arrangements of beautiful Brazilian songs, written by great composers such as Milton Nascimento, Djavan or Toninho Horta; as well as their own original compositions.
In March they won the Jazz Master Prize during the Grachtenfestival Jazz Competition 2024. This allows them to put together a concert with a Jazz Master and play during the festival. This year: Ronald Snijders!
This concert takes place in the Zonzij Hall.
