Ian Siegal & Johnny Mastro

Ian Siegal and Johnny Mastro reunited for a rough and tumble session recorded live in New Orleans. Ian Siegal’s whiskey-soaked voice and guitar are a perfect match for one of the world’s rawest approaches. Johnny’s harmonica drives his band like no other, and combined with Mr. Siegal, the sound is refreshingly intoxicating.

About Ian Siegal

Born in Portsmouth, England, Siegal has headlined festivals around the world for the past 20 years, collecting awards and accolades including Best British Singer. MOJO magazine called him “one of the most gifted singers and writers in contemporary blues.” His rootsy Americana meets blues style and collaborations over the years have earned him a reputation as a soulful, stylistically flexible artist.

About Johnny Mastro

Johnny Mastro, a harmonica player from New Orleans, was born in Geneva, NY, USA and has been leading one of the heaviest bands on the blues scene for 25 years. He has been touring Europe for 20 years and like Siegal's, his critically acclaimed records stand the test of time. Mastro is a bit stiffer in style and always creates a driving, original, loose and dangerous sound, pushing the music to the edge of the abyss. Munich Talk said of his latest record: 'it could hardly be more distorted, dirty or rough and that's a good thing'.
