Fragile melancholy

The Bedroom Community label specializes in atmospheric music. From Icelandic composer and producer Valgeir Sigurðsson, founder of Bedroom Community, the deeply melancholic works No nights dark enough and For love of her (do but kill me) sound, fragilely sung by Jodie Landau, who is a member of the groundbreaking American ensembles Roomful of Teeth and Wild Up.

Virtuoso and dark percussion concert

Daníel Bjarnason and Edmund Finnis are also connected to Bedroom Community. Bjarnason's percussion concerto Inferno , in which Dominique Vleeshouwers (under his stage name DOMNIQ) takes on the solo part, is as virtuoso as it is dark, with an important role for the txalaparta, a Basque instrument made of wooden beams. The ethereal The air, turning by Finnis is counterbalanced by the explosive Gemini by Esa-Pekka Salonen, which depicts the character of the mythical twins Castor and Pollux.
