Mussorgsky's Painting Exhibition

Musorgsky's evocative composition Paintings from an Exhibition consists of 10 musical paintings, impressions of everyday life and bizarre fantasies from fairy tales and legends. Musorgsky wrote it for solo piano, but dozens of arrangements have been made for different settings since his death. The Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen plays the most famous colourful orchestral version by the French composer Maurice Ravel.

Roman Borisov plays Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1

Russian piano prodigy Roman Borisov has been conquering the international stage since winning the Krainev Youth Competition 2019. As the youngest participant, he won first prize at the Kissinger KlavierOlymp in October 2022. The jury praised him for his 'musical, intuitive and structure-conscious interpretations' and 'he impressed with his natural and consistent stage presence'. This summer, Roman Borisov will debut at the Concertgebouw with Tchaikovsky's 'First Piano Concerto', famous thanks to the imposing horns at the beginning and the virtuoso solo part in which bravado and tenderness alternate.
