A Musical Journey
Violinist Jeffrey Bruinsma, known from Zapp4 and Pynarello, presents his new album: Art of the In-Between, an album that came to fruition in an exciting way. In collaboration with guitarist Jesse van Ruller, double bassist Thomas Pol and drummer Jamie Peet he performs a musical journey. A must-see for fans of jazz and classical music alike.
On Art of the In-Between, Bruinsma researches to what extent it is possible to start over without being influenced by his career history. Like a painter with a blank canvas, a search for new modes and forms of expression. While making this album, he became fascinated with the music of Alice Coltrane, the movie Taxi Driver, the poetry of Rumi, fashion designer Rei Kawakubo and Japanese gin. The result: a series of compositions full of surprising twists.
