The seven-piece band Jembaa Groove is a melting pot of cultures due to the combination of members of African and European descent. Together, they have created a contemporary interpretation of highlife, jazz, and soul. Their live performances are energetic and compelling, with tight arrangements and spontaneous improvisations that take the audience on a dreamy journey full of surprising melodies and powerful vocals. Their second album, Ye Ankasa I We Ourselves, is hot off the press, and the group is ready to show this beautiful album to the rest of the world. They will do this in Tolhuistuin on Thursday, 3 October.
