The 7-piece band Jembaa Groove is a melting pot of cultures due to the combination of members with African and European descent. Together they have created a contemporary interpretation of highlife, jazz and soul. Their live performances are energetic and compelling, with tight arrangements and spontaneous improvisations that take the audience on a dreamy journey full of surprising melodies and powerful vocals.

Ye Ankasa I We Ourselves
The band has previously performed on renowned stages worldwide, including SXSW, ESNS and our own Super-Sonic Jazz Festival. Their 2nd album Ye Ankasa I We Ourselves is hot off the press and the group is ready to show this beautiful album to the rest of the world. They will do this in Tolhuistuin on Thursday, October 3.
