The Two Rounds Of Racket Tour

The Two Rounds Of Racket Tour promises to be festive, special and unlike anything fans have seen before from Joe Jackson.

The show consists of two parts: a solo set by Joe Jackson with his original songs, and a second part based on the album What A Racket!

The second part of the show features the first performance in over 100 years of Max Champion's songs, performed by Joe and a nine-piece band.

About Joe Jackson

At the age of 16, Joe played his first paid gig, as a pianist in a pub next to a glue factory just outside Portsmouth. This was followed by more pub performances and he accompanied a bouzouki player in a Greek restaurant. At the age of 18, Joe won a scholarship to study Composition, Piano and Percussion at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 1978, Joe was living in London and trying to sell an album demo with his own band Standby. That demo eventually found its way to the American producer and talent scout for A&M Record: David Kershenbaum. Joe was signed immediately and his demo Look Sharp was re-recorded in August 1978.

The Joe Jackson Band began performing regularly and the album was released in January 1979. At the end of 1980, drummer Houghton decided to quit, and Joe decided to disband the band and try something new. In the late '90s, Joe released some of his most challenging and eclectic work, including Night Music, Heaven and Hell, and the album Joe considers his best (and most underrated): Night and Day II.

In 2003, Joe reunited the original Joe Jackson Band for the album Volume 4 and a tour. The reunion was initially intended as a one-off event, but also produced a live album, Afterlife, in 2004. At the end of summer 2024, Joe will be back in the Netherlands with a 2-part set. The first part will consist of solo performances from his catalogue. In the second part he will perform songs from his album "What A Racket" with a 9-piece band.
