The piece follows the adventures of a boy who visits his grandmother in the capital with his parents, but has to leave the room for a while. He goes out onto the streets and wanders around in an environment that is stranger and more enchanting than anything he has ever experienced. He makes that experience audible to the audience in the music.

In addition to this commissioned work, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra will play the Symphony in D by Anton Bruckner, also known as the Zero Symphony. He wrote the work after his first symphony, but was so insecure about it that he did not number the work. Nowadays, fans of his music judge this Zero Symphony much more positively.
