Program

The concert opens with the jazzy Sing, sing, sing by Louis Prima/Benny Goodman, in a rousing arrangement by conductor Quentin Clare.

The talented 15-year-old soloist David Kooi plays the piano concerto by George Gershwin - a colorful collection of moods, feelings and atmosphere and typically American from beginning to end. David studies with Frank van de Laar at the Sweelinck Academy in Amsterdam.

The name of Dvořák's 9th Symphony From the New World is derived from the name New World , which is given in Europe to the continent of America. He composed the symphony during his stay in the United States and it belongs to the "iron repertoire" of the most performed and beloved works in classical music.

The concert ends with a swinging encore.
