Markt Centraal in the Central Market Hall

The Central Market Hall is a beautiful national monument on the private grounds of the Food Center Amsterdam.

Markt Centraal is the first user of the Central Market Hall during the restoration of this remarkable monument. They aim to introduce all Amsterdam residents to this historic part of Amsterdam in the coming years.

The Market Maal (Meal) is organised here every other Sunday, cooked by neighbours for Amsterdam residents who pay according to their ability to pay. On Fridays and/or Saturdays, Amsterdam bands are programmed under the name Markt Kabaal, from reggae to rock and from hip-hop to punk.

Access to Markt Centraal is via a miniature train, the Markt Centraal Express, which departs from the gate of the Food Center on Jan van Galenstraat.

• Market 15:00 - 21:00.
• Live music and DJs until 03:00.
