The Netherlands Wind Ensemble (NWE) is a group of over twenty musicians who come together a few dozen times a year, both in the Netherlands and abroad, to put on their unique performances. Driven by a love for music and hunger for adventure, NWE creates theatrical musical performances that are difficult to describe. They combine contemporary music with classical music of all shapes and sizes, and are always looking for interesting collaborations with musicians from all cultures and disciplines. With their innovative performances, NWE is always trying to surprise, excite, and move their audience.

For many years now, "The Road to the New Year's Concert" composition contest has been a place where young, talented composers can start promising careers. Arrangers help the young composers to make arrangements for NWE during the composers weekend. After an exciting finale, the winning composers will take the stage with NWE to showcase their creativity.
