Unnoticed: Stories in Pictures - Cynthia Boll
In this photo exhibition Unnoticed: Stories in Pictures in Museum Hilversum, documentary photographer Cynthia Boll shows unique stories that would otherwise remain unnoticed. With photos from South Africa, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Belgium, she captures life as it really is. This exhibition offers visitors a special opportunity to discover her work, including her award-winning project Sinking Cities. Her work makes the public think about important and often underexposed themes. For this, Boll received the prestigious international Canon Female Photojournalist Grant last summer.

Her work makes hidden stories visible
The exhibition offers a compelling look at some of her most groundbreaking projects. Boll sheds light on social issues from a unique perspective. She brings underexposed stories into focus, from the consequences of climate change to the position of women. Her work takes place in countries such as Afghanistan, Indonesia and closer to home in the Netherlands and Belgium.
A highlight is the series 'Sinking Cities, Jakarta', which was recently included in the collection of the Nederlands Fotomuseum. In it, Boll shows the impact of rising sea levels on life in Jakarta. The role of women in different cultures is also central to her work.
Through her photographs, Boll makes hidden stories visible. She makes the audience think about important and often underexposed themes.
