The City District Tournament

The City District Tournament features teams from Nieuw-West, West, Noord, Centrum, Oost, Zuid, Zuidoost, and the Weesp area. It consists of five rounds, each played for 15 minutes plus a 10-second increment per move.

Programme

The event starts at 11:00, and the prize ceremony is at 17:00. The top prize is a public chess table worth €3,500, which will be placed in the winning district and engraved with the names of the victorious team members.

Participants

Each district team consists of 25 players representing various age groups. Teams must meet diversity requirements, with a maximum of ten club players per team. There are four groups: primary school from 6 years old, secondary education, students (MBO, HBO and WO) and adults 18+. Team captains will ensure that teams reflect the district's population.

How do I register?

​Do you live in the Centrum, Noord, Oost, Zuid, West, Nieuw West, Zuid-Oost or Weesp district? Then register with the team captain of your district, stating your name, category, age and telephone number! For the category lower level BO (up to 7 years), please also mention the name of the 'head' (supervisor) and the relationship to the 'hand' (the player). The district captain will then contact you to see if there is still room in his/her team.
