A good start - giving birth in the Netherlands
A look at the Dutch birth care system
The freedom of choice of pregnant women to give birth safely at home is at stake. How valuable and exceptional our maternity care is, becomes clear from their compelling stories about the overwhelming nature of each birth, about the importance of a familiar face at the birth - at home and in the hospital, about the function of pain and the consequences of trauma, poverty and racism.

The evening starts at 19:30 with a lecture by Ank de Jonge, Professor in Midwifery Science, in the hall. The documentary will be shown afterwards. Afterwards there will be a discussion in the hall with the makers and Ank de Jonge.
