A Song for the Moon
“A wonderful production for young and old alike”, wrote the Dutch newspaper NRC after the premiere of A Song for the Moon. Theaterkrant magazine concluded that the production “deserves to become a regular part of the repertoire”. We took those words to heart: following the overwhelming success of this heart-warming family opera, we will be bringing it back to Studio Boekman for the Christmas holidays. Please note, that this opera is sung in the Dutch language.

A song for the moon is based on the book of the same name by Toon Tellegen, a fable about the power of music. Composer Mathilde Wantenaar adapted the story into a delightful 'my first opera' for young visitors and their parents. An accessible and layered performance that does exactly what the story is about: moving through music.
