Afrovibes: BLACK - Oulouy
The words violence, emancipation, pain and self-empowerment highlight the reality of being black in today's world. In 'BLACK', Ivorian choreographer Oulouy embodies the struggle for recognition, equality and respect of black people, referring to episodes from recent history, such as the Black Lives Matter movement.

Oulouy draws on a choreographic repertoire of the major urban styles of the African continent and the United States - Coupé-Décalé, Azonto, Ndomboló, Afrohouse and Krump - to depict the history of the freedom movement. Always in a state of unrest and discomfort and with the potential to gradually influence and reshape the world.
Black previously performed at Tel Aviv Dance 2022 and Dampfzentrlle Bern 2023.
