Afrovibes: BLACK - Oulouy
The words violence, emancipation, pain, and self-empowerment highlight the reality of being black in today's world. In 'BLACK,' Ivorian choreographer Oulouy embodies the struggle for recognition, equality, and respect for black people, referring to episodes from recent history, such as the Black Lives Matter movement.

Redesign
Oulouy draws on a choreographic repertoire of the major urban styles of the African continent and the United States—Coupé-Décalé, Azonto, Ndomboló, Afrohouse, and Krump—to depict the history of the freedom movement, which was always in a state of unrest and discomfort and had the potential to influence and reshape the world gradually.
Black previously performed at Tel Aviv Dance 2022 and Dampfzentrlle Bern 2023.
