'Silent' performance

This 'silent' performance poses fundamental questions about an individual's motivations to dream of elsewhere. SUBJECT TO is inspired by the Tanjawi ritual of Europe-gazing: people of different ages gather at the highest point of the city of Tangier - where they sit, lost in thought, facing the sea - and stare at Europe for a long time, often without saying a word.

Dahkan asks whether change is inevitable, regardless of whether we take steps towards our desires. Previously at Museum of Monologues Istanbul 2023, Youmein Festival Tangier 2023, Frankfurt-Lab 2023
