Disambiguation
In Disambiguation , choreographer and dancer Elisa Zuppini creates a system in which the human gaze merges with inhuman presence. Sixteen dances form a pulsating structure in which the performers approach the audience and then withdraw from their field of vision. The performers explore a sleepless framework in which the 'post-clubbing' is central. They investigate the stimulating effects and consequences of nightlife and move in a dissociative state of depersonalization. By pushing aside personal judgment, space is created for the capriciousness of existence. By inhabiting these viscous in-between spaces, the performers explore all kinds of sensitivities. At the same time, they move in a state of constant transition, where boundaries blur and transformation takes place.
Accompanied by deconstructed melodies and industrial rhythms, the ensemble’s seductive, hypnotic presence creates a haunting gothic tendency. Living in a world that tries to understand itself in a chaotic way, Disambiguation ultimately shows a collective autonomy.
