Maybe you see me appear suddenly, so quickly that I become invisible. Maybe you see me dancing among my invisible friends, and a song I sing stays in your head for a long time. Or I play hide-and-seek with you, disappearing every time you find me. But was I ever really there? Or did I only exist for a moment in your imagination? Have you forgotten me yet?

Why do we want to distinguish ourselves so much and leave our mark? What will be left of us if we don’t have children, if our bloodline ends? Everything on this earth eventually does its own disappearing act, especially now that the climate crisis confronts us with the finiteness of the world around us. What if we focus less on what we leave behind, and learn to disappear?

About the creator

Felix Schellekens is not easily captured in one discipline. After studying mime in Amsterdam, he developed further as an actor, singer, dancer, performance and theatre maker. His sensitive and playful approach to performance provides a sensory experience that touches the heart rather than the head. Felix is a regular face within Nicole Beutler Projects. For example, he played in 8: METAMORPHOSIS, a production that received the VSCD Mime Prize, a nomination for the VSCD Zwaan and won the international Music Theatre Now competition. He also worked with various renowned companies and was nominated for a Louis d'Or for his role in Weg met Eddy Bellegueule by Eline Arbo under Toneelschuur Producties. Under the guidance of Nicole Beutler Projects, he now creates vanishing acts .
