Woman Folly

Woman Folly is a queer and feminist response to the character Vrouwe Zotte from Erasmus's Praise of Folly . In the most misogynistic way, Erasmus praised folly to the skies in his book. Vrouwe Zotte became Hélène's 'imaginary friend', her 'penpal' to whom she wrote letters between 2018 and 2021. These letters remained unanswered, but were collected in a book called Vrouwe Zotte , which will be for sale after the performance.

Lady Zotte remained silent, but Woman Folly opens her mouth. In my sweet nasty lunacy she is a diva too angry to give a concert. She embodies 'Woman' as a new fantasy mammal outside gender frameworks and 'Folly' as a protest against normality.
