Holland Festival: Flavia Pinheiro (BR) - The Unborn
In The Unborn, the audience is transported to a mysterious realm of enchantment, an in-between world. An absent presence is evoked and disturbing spirits defy gravity while floating in the darkness with somersaults.

Solo dance performance by Flavia Pinheiro
The Unborn moves between ritual and choreography and is based on those who will never be born and those who died after birth. The dance embodies a sense of magical movement, which can hear and communicate with spirits. It is a movement that can be seen with closed eyes and thus unlocks a clairvoyant perspective.
In this solo dance performance, Brazilian choreographer and performer Flavia Pinheiro invites you to reflect on the fragility and resilience of life, the mysteries of the spirit world and the eternal longing for continuity. In her artistic practice, Pinheiro creates unlikely exchanges with non-human beings such as bacteria, plants, birds, antelopes and spirits.
