Lonely Species - Bodine Sutorius & Nikki Ong
The uprooted city dweller comes into contact with the earth. She ignores, dominates, and controls. She sows, picks, and harvests. She digs, searches, and descends. Deep in the ground, she finds something she lost long ago. This performance can be seen at Podium Mozaïek. Please note: The stated end time is an indication and is subject to change.

A physical dialogue between human and soil
Lonely Species is a performance about alienation from nature and loneliness in times of extinction. Bodine Sutorius and Nikki Ong look for new ways of living together with the soil from which they were once born. They attempt to capture the capricious relationship between people and landscape in a physical and musical language. This is a language with no problem performance.
As preliminary research for this performance, Bodine and Nikki walked the Kungsleden trail in Swedish Lapland. Separately, they trekked 440 kilometres through dense forests and past snow-capped mountains. For twenty-four days, they exchanged their suburban lives for the rugged landscape. In this way, they attempted to find answers to the questions underlying this performance. Can a modern man still be wild? How do you connect with non-human life when the world you live in is so human? Can we still feel part of an ecosystem?
