The story behind the collaboration with Saariaho
Saariaho has been working with jazz trumpeter Verneri Pohjola since early 2022. Their collaboration resulted in the trumpet concerto HUSH, which would also be her last work. The concert can be seen as a journey through her life.
TIPS:
During the concert on Thursday, March 13 at 8:15 PM, Verneri Pohjola will perform the trumpet concerto HUSH by Saariaho.
On Sunday 16 March at 3:00 PM in the Bimhuis, Verneri Pohjola and percussionist Mika Kallio will play the soundtrack to Perttu Saksa's nature documentary Animal Image .
