The horse of Jenin at Paradiso
The Horse of Jenin is a theatre performance by Troupe Courage, performed and written by Palestinian actor and comedian Alaa Shehada, in which he interweaves his personal story with the symbolism of a huge statue of a horse, made from the rubble of war in his hometown of Jenin. The horse, a powerful symbol of freedom and resilience, was taken by an Israeli bulldozer, prompting Alaa to ask questions: What happened to the horse? Through humour, imagination and raw honesty, Alaa sketches a life of struggle, growing up and surviving in Palestine. The performance is spoken in English.
