National Tulip Day

Every year in January, Amsterdam officially kicks off the tulip season during National Tulip Day. In 2025, National Tulip Day will return to the city for the 12th edition. Dutch tulip growers invite everyone to pick a bunch of tulips for free in a specially created picking garden. In 2025, National Tulip Day will be dedicated to celebrating Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary. A tulip picking garden with 200,000 tulips has been created on Museumplein in Amsterdam. The picking garden will open at 1 p.m. and everyone can pick a free bunch of tulips.

Grachtenfestival New Year's Concert 2025

Warm Hearts floating sauna is the first sauna fuelled by kindness. Instead of paying, every sauna user does an act of kindness either for the environment or to another person. The sauna events are starting in Autumn 2024. Official opening on Sunday, December 8th from 12:00-17:00.

Navid Nuur: When Doubt Turns into Destiny

The Oude Kerk presents a large-scale context-specific exhibition by artist Navid Nuur. Nuur invites you to experience the church with your senses. He peels back the history of Amsterdam's oldest building to experiences that are about the here and now: about seeing, smelling, hearing, earth, air and light. Notably, an important part of the exhibition will only conclude one hundred years from now.

In the print rooms of the Rijksmuseum: Ode to 750 years of Amsterdam

The Rijksmuseum’s collection of more than 500,000 prints and drawings is one of the largest in theworld. With work spanning from 1442 to today, it includes engravings, etchings, woodcuts,lithographs and photographs. Due of the fragility of the material from which they are made wechange the selection of works in the print cabinets every six months, to tell new stories. This time weare giving particular attention to three topics: the 750th anniversary of Amsterdam, the print collagesof Michael Snijders and the drawings of Gerard de Lairesse.
